Hello! My name is Cade,
I am a Heriot-Watt University Graduate with a MDes in Game Design & Development and a BSc in Computer Science.
Game prototype developed in Unity for my Masters Project. Focused on designing an experience with elegant mechanics and a unique gameplay loop. Players are given a series of cleaning tasks to complete around a graveyard level, and must utilise the tools available to them to complete their job without being defeated by the graveyard residents.
Aesthetic prototype developed in Unity, assets created myself within Crocotile3D. Simple puzzle game where players are asked to pick flowers, they must manipulate the level to reveal the hidden flowers in the level.
Performance prototype developed in Unity. Simulating a large amount of boids, implemented a CPU bound and GPU bound version to highlight performance optimisations/improvements.
Unity prototype for a painting mechanic to be used in a tentative game called “Kaiju Kanvas”. Worked with shaders to achieve the painting effect. During the development of this project, I also designed and populated a Wiki to detail different elements for the proposed game, such as outlining approaches to Accessibility, Balancing etc.
Dissertation project for my Computer Science degree, focused on procedural generation and developed with Godot. A simple sailing game which uses the Wave Function Collapse (WFC) algorithm to procedurally generate small islands.

University group coursework project, worked with three other developers within my cohort to create a functional Action-RPG prototype called ‘Blade Boogie’. My role primarily focused on developing the user interface, utilising software such as Adobe After Effects to create responsive Health & Magic UI orb elements.
Couple of Blender projects created during my studies. First image was a group project where myself and three others created a scene of iconic video-game weapons, I was responsible for creating the scene environment & Master Sword model.
